Example (average accleration)

A car accelertates along a straight road from rest to 75 m/s in 5.0 s. What is the magnitude of its average accelertaion?

Solution:

The car starts from rest, initial velocity = 0
final velocity = 75 m/s
time taken = 5 s

average acceleration = (75 -0) /5 = 15 m/s^2
